Katherine

Dear Anna and your wonderful team,

Thank you so much for your all you hard work on my dream wedding dress. It turned out even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

You and your team are extremely talented, and once my Mum and I had met with you, we knew we didn’t have to look any further for a designer. You understood the look I wanted, and designed and created something far more gorgeous than I had seen anywhere else. The dress was so flattering, and fit me perfectly. I really did feel like a princess, and received so many compliments from people, some even said it was the most beautiful wedding dress they had ever seen.

Thank you again for my dream wedding dress!

Love,
Katherine x

Katherine’s beaded wedding dress

When Katherine came to see us for a consultation she fell in love with a new lace trim which had just come in. French Chantilly, hand encrusted in soft white seed beads the lace had just the right colour and weight for the sleeves she wanted and a beautiful bodice.

Trying on styles we settles on a lightly boned bodice, open V-neckline and a flowing skirt. Silk chiffon was an easy choice for the bride-to-be. It would flow beautifully and catch the breeze at her summer wedding. For a soft and cool base we decided to cut the inner gown in a glossy silk satin, which would shine through the textured, fitted lace bodice.

For a contemporary edge we change the sleeve idea to a flared cape, it would show the lace design in a more continuous piece and be a bit of fun, too.

There was a bit of a hiccup during one of the fittings. Katherine was in tears one day, and could almost not be consoled. Her mother was with her, which I was grateful for, as I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

Going home and rethinking, Katherine’s mother contacted me asking for a different hue to the beaded wedding dress. They felt it was a bit lighter than originally planned and Katherine did’t feel the tone flattered her. On top of this she had lost a lot of weight and the wedding dress had been too big at the fitting.

Before the next fitting we changed the chiffon layering to a warmer ivory and overlaid the silk top to match. When Katherine tried on the gown she was happy – now the colour was right, it actually fitted and started to look like what she had envisioned all along.

Katherine looked stunning on the day, and we love her beaded wedding dress!
