Prudence

Anna created me the most beautiful wedding dress, I absolutely loved wearing it! I will definitely be recommending her to anyone I know that is looking for someone to make them a special gown.

Thank you Anna for making the whole wedding dress process so easy!

xx Prue

Prue’s lace wedding dress

Prue has two friends who had their wedding dresses made with us. So she flew up from Wellington to see us for her own gown, loved the atelier, and booked in straight away. Prue loved the lines of our Beaded Wedding Dress, but was looking for a lighter, more simple design.

Our French Ombline lace had the right look for her. She loved the crisp porcelain hue and the romantic, vintage inspired design. We layered it over a rich, slender cut silk satin and gave it just enough flare to emphasize the beauty of the lace.  The neckline was planned to flow into nude from scattered lace motifs.

After the lace skirt was sewn into the waist we started on the bodice overlay. We found the flowing design of the lace’s edge just too beautiful not to use! We back-tracked, and when Prue came in for one of her tightly scheduled fittings (she was only in Auckland for a few short stints) we had changed the lace top to a sheer illusion v-neck. Prue was initially not so sure, but her mother convinced her the new neckline looked fabulous.

Incorporating the flow of the lace design so clearly made for a truly unique neckline. The finishing touch was a close row of silk buttons. The beautiful lace wedding dress did take her Mum a while to do up on the day, but it looked amazing!

We loved Prue’s gown! And so did Prue:

“I absolutely loved my wedding dress and got so many comments on how gorgeous it was. You did an amazing job and I couldn’t have been happier with it. xx”
